After 3 weeks off, we took to the diamond tonight and came away with a win over New Hope. It was a great game, back and forth to the end. We scored 3 in the 5th to open our lead to 9-5. New Hope came right back with 4 in the bottom to tie and 1 in the 6th to take a 10-9 lead. We scored 2 in the top of the 7th and went back up 11-10 with a single by Hannah followed by a triple from Art, and a single from Ashley. 2 good defensive playes in the bottom of the 7th sealed it, both turned in by Andy. He caught a short fly ball and doubled a runner off 1st, then, after breaking the wrong way, went back and caught a ball over his shoulder to seal the win. Everyone contributed tonight, from Amber with 3 hits, to Kevin’s home run leading off the 4th. Good game, Fairlane.

We took one on the chin tonight against Highland Heights.  Next week we have a bye while the Youth attend camp at Jonathan Creek.

After a rainout last week, we went back to the field tonight. Grant’s Lick at Grant’s Lick. Can anyone say home field advantage :) ? Anyway, they did win, 10-2. Next week we play Highland Heights. Come support us at 7:30 at Grant’s Lick.

Now we really are off to a good start.  The weather was great tonight for a game.  The field was just wet enough to keep the dust down.  After several schedule changes the last 3 days, we played Carthage and won 10-6.  We had 13 players show for the first game, and had 3 who missed.  This year we are leaning on our teenagers.  Time to step up!

We’re off to a great start! Well, we haven’t lost yet. Um. We haven’t played yet, either. All games were rained out last week, and looks like more of the same this week. Stay tuned.

It’s that time, again. Get out your cleats; oil your gloves; loosen that shoulder. Co-ed softball begins April 6!

All in a flurry of activity we went from getting our own little shoe boxes and filling them to road tripping down to NC to get the carton ready for oversea shipping.
It is simply amazing to see over 188 boxes come from the generosity of our church (small in size, but big in sharing)!
In making up our shoe boxes we nearly averaged 3 boxes per person.
It doesn’t take much thought to realize that big things come from allowing our minds to break free of restraints of ‘conventional’ wisdom, and to lovingly, wrecklessly explore the possibilities of how much impact a single person can have.
Remember, it was Mark Twain that said, “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog.”
We have the capacity within each of us to do great things – great evil, or great good; we concieve, and then we do.
May this experience with Operation Christmas Child be the beginning of expanding our minds and our influence for the greater good, and the glory of God, the Father.
Grace & Peace
